Sticky tires
Hi there
I am wondering what the stickiest streetable tires are? My car is having a little trouble hooking up. I really should install my Quaife too. I have been too busy/lazy to do that. I am waiting until my engine is done! My tires were spinning at 80 mph which is a little out of hand! The ground was slightly wet though.
Thanks!

I think finding tires sticky enough for your car is a lost cause. The laws of physics are really against you.
BTW, does your turbo cause anymore vibration or metal to metal rubbing when driving or is the VQ as smooth as it was NA?

The only issue I have is with my cold air intake which moves out of position every now and again and clunks when I accelerate hard. I think some silicone or rubber would fix that problem pretty easily. I have had a few other issues, but they have been fixed and those fixes have been applied to the kits. Some things you can only see after some time. Now everything seems to be pretty solid!

benificial to have the largest series tire you can fit (ie,
biggest sidewall) so the tire can flex some to grip the ground
better. I'd say bridgestone SO3, RE730.

Oh and if you only want to buy one set instead of one summer set and one winter set, I recommend the Nokian NRW or WR (NRW is last year's model, WR is this year's model).
They're excellent all around tire with great dry traction, wet traction AND snow traction. These tires (IMHO) are the best all-around tires (dry, wet, snow) tires available on the market. You'd still be better off with two sets though if you can afford it.

I have the RE730 and they're great. The RE730 have a better treadwear rating than the S02 and S03 but that's mostly because the S02 and S03 are better performance tires. If you want the best, go with S03, if you want just excellent and no more, go with RE730 2nd gen (the 1st gen are very noisy and they stopped making them so if you go with the RE730, make sure they're 2nd gen and not 1st gen).
