5speed- the white plastic ball on shifter

for a 5sp tranny, is the white plastic ball and bushings that are on the bottom pivot of the stock shift lever replacable? Can I just buy replacement ball and bushings from nissan?

What happened to your ball? Maybe one of the guys who installed STS can hook you up with the ball from their shifter.

The plastic ball is not, I believe Nissan cast the sucker onto the shift rod.

I'm 98% sure it doesn't come off.

Make that 100% sure. Tried it before when I replaced mine with Pacesetter STS but no luck.

My ball is still here but I was just thinking since the shifter is already off the car why not replace it while I can. Guess I cant but thanks guys for the help.

ok well i'm not sure if this is related to the "ball" you guys are talkin about (not sure myself what you guys are talkin about lol) but let's just assume that this "ball" gets damaged... would it cause the shifter to vibrate/rattle?

I do have a STS but it's been a while and i've developed this problem where it just vibrates and rattles like crazy when im cruising along on the highway (60+ mph). Thanks

I would think that if the ball is cracked or worn then you would feel alot more play in the shifter and it will not be as tight and smooth like its supposed to.

thanks

I've been trying to figure out what the problem could be... I hope it is nothing too costly.
