I purchased a SI recently. When I took the K&N filter out of its plastic wrapping, I discovered scouring on the outside of the filter. I dropped by Stillen today and exchanged the filter. It took 20 minutes to accomplish the exchange because a lot of the filters in Stillen's inventory showed damage just like mine. The only thing that isn't known is whether K&N is shipping damaged filters to Stillen or Stillen is damaging the filters themselves by stacking them up.

If you're planning to purchase a SI, I'd recommend that you have the salesperson who sells it to you remove the filter from its wrapping and personally inspect it before they ship it to you.

Actually I live in the San Gabriel Valley, irvine78. I travel throughout So. Cal. and I happened to be in OC today.

I don't think I'll remove enough of the intake during the SI install to expose the TB, Jeff92se. If I do, I'll measure it for you and let you know.
