So along with the idiotic polls he posts, he managed to screw us out of sigs.

Real smooth, William.....

how about we just turn his SIG off or ban him for a week. You may flame me, but i don't really think that this is Fair or Just to punish the whole group. Plus I would have said something, but he had them on there for awhile and nobody said anything so i just thought that it was ok

not really a bannable offence.. and you can't turn off 1 individual's sig.. you can edit their sig.. however.. who wants to keep tracking down people over and over editing their sigs..

until people learn.. this is the only way.. your best bet is to email william and let him know how you feel

and when this happends again.. notice i didn't say if.. when it happens again.. we will let you know who it is.. and then you guys can then email them also

as to when sigs are coming back.. go out and buy a lottery ticket.. you might have a better chance ... or maybe even a public appology form william might speed up the process

everyone have a nice day now..

You know what..........I dont really care about sigs anyway. If someone wants to see my car or mods they can go to my homepage.

If no sigs will save enough bandwidth to help Kevin out or maybe increase server speed a bit then its a fair trade.

Like Sprint said, they warned us about images like that. Apparently there are still idiots out there that dont care.

Maybe a small Icon size avatar.............48 x 48 or something.

Im cool just reading the posts. As long as the important things like SteVTEC's dyno plots and info, pics of turbo projects........etc, Pertinent info can still be posted or linked thats cool.

I like my sigs......im sure others like theirs and having them as well. But if its a common occurrence to have the rules violated and have them turned off.......

Why bother.

I think this is a bit excessive. If you guys have a problem with William's sig, why not go about it in a professional instead of publically attacking the guy and playing the whole community against him? This reminds me of stuff girls do to each other in high school.

Wouldn't it be better just to email people with questionable content in their sigs and say something like:

"Dear Mr. XXXXXX,

Your account to Maxima.org has been temporarily suspended due images displayed in you posting signature. Please review our policies and code of conduct on this site and correct your signature accordingly. Please contact Mr. XXXXX at email XXXXX for reinstatement into Maxima.org upon correction of your signature.

Regards,

The Staff at Maxima.Org"

Wouldn't this be better instead of making it personal against someone who's obviously not well liked on the site already?

I agree that would have been a better way to handle it...however, how many times have we as a community been warned about this? Not following the rules that have been explained and debated countless times almost deserves this kind of calling out.

Either way, Will know the rules. People are just trying to see how far they can go. Kev is a good guy too so why don't people show him some respect?

Dave,

I grow tired of seeing the ignorance portrayed by people who don't know what goes on behind the scenes.

Being nice and polite has been tried. It failed.

This is Plan B, not Plan A. Problem members and trouble makers in general only seem to understand being called out publicly rather than handling it privately.

I'm lost as to why....need for ego stroke, need for attention, who knows.

I'm not going to sit here and see myself or fellow moderators get brow beaten for an action that we didn't instigate.

I don't even know why we need sig pics anyway though. I would be happy with a small avatar.

Been there.. done that.. this is not a nursery.. how many times must we baby sit and treat members like babies..

Jerimiah had the same sig yesterday.. to his credit.. he does not visit the forum as often and may have been away during the time sigs were gone.. he was spoken to and his sig was gone..

now Will has been here.. he knows about this and stil did it. how many times must we go through this dave.. this is not the first, second, third or fourth time it has happened... it happens over and over and over again..

this is the only way offenders can learn not to do such a thing, is when the people they inconvience let them know how they feel about them breaking the rules.

if everything in life could be solved in a civil manner, there would never be a reason for war... Dave.. sometimes you just HAVE to take it THERE..
