People with AUTOMETER fuel pressure gauge...

Is there some sort of lag on the Autometer full sweep electic fp gauge?

What would happen tonight is that when I would be at WOT N/A, I would be set at the correct 43 psi and when I sprayed (50 Shot - NOS recommends 60 psi of fp), the fp would go up to 50 psi, but the funny thing was, when I stop spraying and let off the gas, the fp gauge would shoot up to 60 psi for a second then go back down to the correct driving fp.

What was happening? Was I getting 50 psi at WOT? or 60 and it just took a second to register?

Is my fp dead or dying? My N/A idle reading is ~34 psi, but when I'm on the gas it's 40 and WOT it's 43.

I've had nitrous for about a month, I'm on my 2nd bottle, and I've only sprayed 50 shot. I dyno'd last weekend and my A/F was fine.

btw, bottle pressure was constant at 900 psi

Thanks

Same thing happens to me.

I didn't worry about it because I figured worst case there was extra fuel pressure after the nitrous stoped spraying for a moment. Shouldn't hurt anything.

Re: People with AUTOMETER fuel pressure gauge...

It could be that the injector pulse width drops down faster than the fpr can release pressure, resulting in a momentary pressure spike when you release the throttle after a WOT run.

I don't think its suppose to be normal but it happens on the Maxima. Mine use to do that all the time.

Wow interesting.

So you guys were getting low readings on your fp gauge for a set "shot" but when you let off, the psi reading you were supposed to get registered for a split second?

In other words, Synki: If you were spraying 100 shot, while you were spraying, was the fp gauge showing like 60 psi but when you shifted or left off gas, did it raise up to 85 psi for a second?

I take my comments back, that's not what mine does.

My FP goes right to where I want it (68ish PSI for 70 shot), and then stays there for a second or so after I stop spraying. I've never seen the FP jump up like that.

It only did this when I stopped spraying. I was running a 100+ shot in my auto max, so I never lifted off the gas.

Say if I was going down the 1320 and i passed the finish line, I would flip my Nitrous switch off. Then I would noticed the FP jumped. Sorry if I used terrible wording.

What FP was the gauge reading when you were spraying?

I mean, was the pressure significantly lower than what it should have been?

I think my FP was reading 80psi or so on the 100 shot. It never read lower but after I shut the nitrous down, it would rise up and come back down.

See, that's not that bad, you would only be off by 5 psi from what NOS recommends.

I've been having electrical problems including a current dying battery I keep having to charge. I wonder if this is contributing in some way to not relaying a proper signal to the fuel pump or something of the sort?
