Hello peoples....

My 99 GLE is at the 22K mark, and except for some annoying squeaking from the brakes at slow speeds (especially when its wet outside), everything seems to be running fine.

I've pretty much just changed the oil every 3500, the air filter a couple of times, and had the fuel injector cleaned once by Jiffy (expensive, but I noticed a huge difference).

Besides the above maintenance, I've pretty much just kept the vehicle clean inside and out.

My question for you is what maintenance do I need now, and what should I be expecting to need in the near future to 10K+ from now? Also, any suggestions about the brakes would be appreciated.

Thanks!

-Mike

You can't really go by the mileage too much w/ brakes. The thing you should do is to take a look at the brake pads themselves and see how much pad material you have left. If it's lower than 1/4, you should just replace them at your earliest convience. You could try some brake quiet goop in the BACK of the pads if you have alot of life left in them. The squeaks are actually high frequency vibrations from the pads sliding back and forth either side of the pad "ears". The brake quiet will help eliminate some of those vibrations.
