CarTest fun: 5th gens need a raised rev limiter
Based off of a stock dyno of 183hp and 178tq I was able to muster a 14.93 @ 94.6 with the stock rev limiter. Then I decided to start playing with it, since 5th gens make all their power at redline, to see what would happen should a 5th gen owner get a raised rev limiter.
All runs were made with a 2.22 60' time.
6500RPM Limiter
14.93 @ 94.66mph
7000RPM Limiter
14.81 @ 95.00
7200RPM Limiter
14.76 @ 95.11mph
7500RPM Limiter
14.72 @ 96.19mph
P.S. Yes I am playing with CarTest at 11pm on Valentine's Day. My girlfriend is in another state, thus you guys benefit from my temorary celibacy

Could you do this for a 2002 Neal? www.frankencar.com has a stock dyno chart.

I even did it with your mods, which seem to have shifted the peak power more to the higher RPM range, and still gained only .01 second from a 7000rpm limiter. You would only benefit from it in 1st gear, other optimal shift points are around 6600 which is the stock redline.

I still havent figured out why JWT or UPRD couldnt at least raise the rev limiters on the 98 + maxes...so what if they cant crack the code for us and give us more fuel and change the timing. I'll settle for a raised limiter to go with an upcoming vi

It is too bad there isn't a cheap and easy way to do this.
I recall looking into something called the Program/unichip a couple of years ago that could do all that. It was a piggyback to the ECU that allowed complete tuning.
Only problem was that it was ~600 BEFORE tuning.
