Ryan's max blows!!

Dude hope you don't mind me posting this for you. I'm just so thrilled for ya man! Plus you didn't get video footage and dyno charts. You went ripping out of there without even picking up the dyno charts we printed for you. Well here is another "blown" (turboed) VQ30DE on the streets probably ripping round Fort Collins as I write this. This time it is an automatic!

PFI did an great job! It took a little longer than expected but it was not easy that's for sure! Bill, Brent and Ray did an awesome job on this one! This is non-intercooled running 6 psi. The kit is ready for sale!

He has more power at 3700 rpm than he ever did anywhere before and has more than 200 lb-ft of torque! The piping is totally different from the manual version. Seems to spool pretty quick!

Here's the dyno chart. I'll have footage a little later (I'll edit this post):

Here is a link to some movie footage. I took it with a crappy camera with mpeg video so I could get something on the boards asap. I have better stuff on a videocam

Dude

Do you know how to shrink the file sizes of mpegs? I have a 28MB one that I want to shrink. By the way thanks for hosting!

Yes, I can shrink it...
What you can do is get me on AIM, and I will get it from you through there and fix it.

I shrank the one you gave me down to about 1.8MB from your 6 and it sounds cleaner.

I think you accidentally switched some of the text around. According to the legend on the top, blue is with the VI open and red is with the VI closed. Plus, the graphs make more sense that way. =)

Am I reading that wrong?

With VI Open has less peak hp than closed???

But the legend says "With VI" for Blue, not Red, although your arrows say it the other way around.

Hehe! We had some problems with the VI not activating properly, so we had a guy standing there with a vacuum pump who opened it manually. It's in the video. If I can figure out how to make it smaller, we can all enjoy it!

Looks like the VI is opening way WAY too early.

It needs to open at 5300rpms.

Nope - 5000RPM with boost.

28 Dynos runs can't be wrong.

To answer why his stock #'s are so low....5000ft elevation doesnt help at all altitude sucks.

No problem! I hope you put more business their way. I know they lost money on your deal cos of the amount of time they had to put into it for development. I need to go to sleep! I've got an early morning flight!

I disagree, I open at ~5400 IIRC and my tuning showed it to be optimal for my set up. Its really a matter of tuning if for each car. Their is no magic number. On the dyno shown above it is to early, or their is another issue, because the loss of power is way to much, 5400 would be a good guess for this one IMHO.

hmm.. ok then your numbers will change allot.. not to sound like I am talking down to you..

but, have you ever dyno'd your car before?

if not here is a tip.. WHICH works on NA maxima's your car may have to much power for this and it may be difficult.. I am just trying to help

put it in 2 and push the gas down.. and then when you hit 68 MPH switch to D and then at 71-75 MPH floor it till redline

again not trying to say you do not know what your doing.. only trying to help.. I AM VERY JEALOUS OF YOUR CAR

looks awesome

Ya iv dynoed my car there a few times i think i have like 20 pulls with them and when i was n/a i was able to do one run in 3rd about a year ago and my power increased about 10 hp so i'll try and get a pull in 3rd soon. How much of a difference do ya think it will be?
