Toasted Headlight Connector Need Advice !

Like many others my aftermarket bulbs burned my headlight connector . The odd thing is one side is perfectly fine while the other is toasted . Can someone give me advice what to do next. Should I cut the wiring to see if the harness is fine, cuz it looks like only the connector is burnt. And if its only the connector thats burnt, is it possible that I only replace the connector ? Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

yes, you can replace only the connector/socket part. Many people buy the Nokya harness, but I don't think it's "upgraded". I bought one for my other car and it's very cheezy.
it seems that ebay and suvlights sell upgraded harnesses for $40, however you might have issues w/highbeam.

You can just buy another OEM spec light socket/connector and splice it into the original headlight wiring. This is an easy fix if your wiring is still in good shape. If you want to use high wattage bulbs again then you need to buy a complete upgrade wire harness that comes with relays and heavy duty wiring.

Make an upgraded headlight harness. id go pick up 2 new 9004/9007 headlight connectors, 2 relays, 2 spools of 12 awg wire (red and black) some spade connectors for the relays, then go crazy with the soldering iron. its well worth the time.

Can you help me? How many watts is 12awg wires are good for? Just wondering if I should go thicker. does it matter if it's oxygen free or anything special (like Monster Cables?) Or is the distance so short that it won't matter?
thanx
