Wind Deflector removal

Apart from the 32cm of snow we just got, spring should be coming around to these parts soon... I have a factory wind deflector on my 5th gen that I'm going to unscrew and remove when I wax her... I don't do much hwy driving except a handful of road trips during the summer so I may only put it on when I leave town... What is the best way to remove the rubber nipple thingys without damaging the paint???

I'm also assuming I can pick up another set at the dealership... I was also thinking of attaching the nipples to the actual deflector instead of my hood when I reinstall it... Has anyone else tried this. I don't think they would damage the paint by rubbing because there doesn't seem to be much room for movement as is now...

To remove them from my truck I just carefully peeled them off, then used goo-gone to clean the excess goop left on the hood.

Also, I wouldn't put them on the deflector if I was you. It vibrates at speed, and even a slight vibration is enough to mar the paint of any vehicle.
