One of my HID went out......??

I have Hanabi 6000K purple HID's and one on the driver side went out?? Last time this happened when it was raining and I thought water might've sunk in or something but I found out that the starter was bad so the guy sent me the another starter and it was working fine, yesterday I found out it went out again, just like last time yesterday it was raining like crazy. Did this ever happen to anyone who have HID's on their car????

One side of my HID kit stopped working a couple months ago. I thought it was the bulb at first, but after swapping components with the working side, I narrowed it down to a faulty ballast. I opened the ballast and found a couple solder joints that looked weak or burnt out, so I soldered them and the ballast worked again. It was a relief to save some money. Maybe you can do the same.

What kit do you have? My Hanabi kit did the same thing. Unfortunately the ballasts are epoxy filled boxes. There is no way to service them... Sucked that I had to shell out $55 for another ballast but at least the whole kit was still useable. I think I'd go for a reputable kit the next time.

Yeah. I have the 6000k blue. The problem is more the quality control / reliability than the warrantee to me. I know definitely that my ballast/starter do not get wet at all. Can't say why the ballast failed except low quality perhaps.

Actually, now that I think about it, it was the starter that failed! The red box. Looks like this is a weak point with the Hanabi Kit.

first time when that happen to me I found out it was the starter, so I sent the starter back to the guy I bought this kit from and he sent me another starter and it was working fine for about 2 month and here we go again......

Finally I found a thread with some downsides to the Hanabi kit. I've been researching HIDs for some time and am hoping there is enough info floating around about the different kits to start a comparison of the different brands. Are they any other regrets/dislikes you guys have about the Hanabi kit?

just as a note.. the 6000k kit with starter and ballast as seperate units seems to be the only weak hanabi kit.

if water is getting into it, more than likely its where it was mounted.

Panasonic "Vision" kit. I think it is somewhere around 4500K-5000K. Their newer kits have hotter color temperatures.
I've had it for 19 months. Water didn't get into the ballast. I'm guessing it failed because the weak solder joint burned itself out, or vibration knocked it loose.

I had the Hanabi 6000k blue. I had 1 bad starter on day one, so I sent it back and didnt have any other problems from then on. I since wrecked that car and shattered one of the bulbs in the process.

Anyone want to buy?
