It's a 2 year thing in NJ now so the last time I was there my car was completely stock. I was a little nervous about emissions but here are the numbers:

Gas / Standard / Reading
NOx / 937 / 468
HC / 124 / 42
CO / 0.69 / 0.40
CO2 / na / 15.2

We have the same thing in VA every two year. We have to run the car on a dyno and take readings. Was your just in park and rev it up or dyno roller too. I have to get it doen in March. I don't think my car can pass right now with Y-pipe and no cat.

On the dyno rollers. You won't pass without a cat IMO. Go for the RT cat (see sig). I'm pretty sure that this saved me.

BTW, if you have airhorns wired with the stock horn, be sure to pull the fuse before you get inspected.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to plug the stock one back on =) I know I'm still missing something. Last year I didn't pass because of banner sticker the front and hyperwhite bulbs. This year..need to put back the stock cat, take the hyperwhite bulbs out, hook the stock horn back and...hmm. Do you think they will freak seeing my direct port nitrous kit?

About 5 minutes or so, I wanted to watch but they chased me into a little booth that's used as a waiting room. Of course this was 'for my own safety'.

Holy cow. I see all these inspection stories and feel relieved I live in IA. If your vehicle can propel itself forward and stop on its own-it's roadwaorthy in the state's opinion. Cat, what's a CAT-here most motorhead guys just pipe the exhaust straight back from the glass packs...

My car had between 61,500-62,000 miles on it when the SC and other mods were installed. I now have over 86,000 miles and no problems! I do want to get Don's VB mod though to avoid any tranny problems.

Autogear in Plainfield, NJ did my install (1-877-AUTOGEAR). Tell Joe or John that you spoke with JJW from the the Maxima BBS.

IMO, you are better off with a used V1 SC kit than the new V2 kits. Everyone I've spoken with who bought a V2 kit had some problem or another with it from fitment problems to weird engine revving and so on. I hope Stillen works out these problems.

Fernando,
Right here on the Parts For Sale/Wanted BBS would probably be the best place to watch for a used V1 kit. BTW, if you have any other questions email me for a quicker response!

Brett,

Thanks...congrats for what?
