i love pearl finishes. My favorite finish i have seen is a yellow car with orange pearl. Sounds iffy, but it was beautiful. A light hint of orange with a yellow paint. the pearl coat will make a paint job look a little more milky, like a PEARL.

no not really. it would just add a "flip" to the paint, its kind of hard to explain unless you have seen a pearl paint job in person, most people think that a pearl is the metalic finish.

I've seen alot of paint jobs with custom pearls added to it and most of the time, it faded the color out, i think the term is "milky". But some color combination do add a flair to the color.

what's the difference between pearl and metallic then? I always thought it was the pearl that added the metallic look... at least that's how the paintjob desribed it.

pearl- (use my car as an example) my car is red with a blue pearl, the car is still very red but when light hits it on some angles you can really see the blue pearl( on surfaces that face up you can see it alot more eg. fenders, spoiler) it doesnt matter if it is at night or not, just where your standing and how light is hitting it.
metallic, is like a flake or sparkle in the paint that makes the paint look deeper almost, the flake is usually just a few shades lighter than the color (hard to explain)

Its kinda tough to see the pearl from a picture. I have a white and silver pearl (and grey, dark grey on the lower part) on my typhoon and when I REALLY notice the change in color is under a street light at night. Especially those nasty dim yellow lighted ones. Makes my entire car silver.

You can KINDA see it in that..though im not sure if its the shadows or what that are giving it a silverish glint.
