Where is your donut ?

I must admit, sometimes I take the old spare tire ( donut ) out of the car and toss it inside under the couch. Why you might ask, cause that spare wheel weighs about 25 pounds, and with my bigtime rockford fosgate amp, (2) 12" rockford subs, and custom enclosure, there is no telling how much weight i have added to my white chariot. So if im going to be riding around town, i will take out the donut and dunk it under the couch. Now my question?
WHERE IS YOUR DONUT ? Do you ever take it out?

It's in my garage, I have a full-size spare now. It's terrible having to crawl 45mph after you change a tire.

In the trunk where it should be. I took it out a few months ago, put some air in it, cleaned it and shined up the sidewall. I have the nicest donut this part of town.

I have no spare.. The spare tire well is filled with fiberglass, hosting a Kicker solobaric L7.

If I take long tips I toss the tire on the womens lap to hold it

I have a full size from an old set of wheels.

I ski a lot so I don't want to get stuck driving home on a donut.

17" will fit in spare well

Donut is in the garage and I have a full size 17" SE wheel for the spare. It does fit but sits about 1" higher than the floor. I can deal with that so I don't worry about the donut on vacation.

What year and tire size do you have? I can't imagine a 5th gen with a 17" wheel and tire fitting (I have one, and just don't see it, but if it does, know what I am doing)

won't that upset your 60/40 weight distribution, now more front heavy, which means more pushing thru the corners ...

I think your all crazy not carrying the little idy bidy donut... Imagnine 3:00am, coming home from the bars and smoking ummm.. a fallen off Altezza light on the highway... you get a flat and now what... 2 hours later AAA shows... SELLS you a donut if hes got one... Or you get towed somewhere where you leave the car overnight.. cab home, $$$ etc... bus or cab to work the next day, your late, get fired.. it all kinda snowballs from there... maybe that just how my life is.... If only I had a donut

To me its a simple fix to a MAJOR inconvenience... If your really worried about weight rip the backseat out!

Gladly.... email me tborkosky@att.net and I will do it this weekend. Today, tomorrow and Saturday I am a prisoner to work so my plan is Sunday. I'll take a pic with the mat in and one with the mat pushed back so you can see how much higher it it. Personally would rather have the slight inconvience and piece of mind of having the full size spare ( floor is not quite level now but I have some ideas how to fix it)over a nice level trunk floor any day.

I actually just put my backseat back into my car about a month ago. (Took a trip to Vegas, and didn't think my friends would like sitting in back with no seat.) I still haven't put the donut back in though.

My donut is in the car. What are you gonna do if you are broken down somewhere out in bumf*ck egypt and there is not service station or tow truck within miles?

As much as we all hate the donut and the weight of it, we live with it because we know we wouldn't want to live without it, just because of situations like I mentioned earlier.
