WOW! Wolfdog attacks my car

I was visiting some of my relatives and my crazy uncle wants to show me his dogs, named Hilary and Monica, like I said he's crazy. Anyways we go outside to check out these dogs, they are literally part wolf/part german shepard and weigh about 100 lbs. each. He lets them out of their pen with 7ft. fence around it and one of them runs up to us and jumps around like it was freed from a prison camp or something. We were all standing around laughing then one of the dogs runs up and jumps on the hood of my car! I froze immediately and then ran to my car, which my uncle got to first and he grabbed the dog off the car. All I can say is that I was stunned! I was trying to be cool about it because I didn't see any real scratches or anything on the BLACK paint. So I get home later and really look at it, there is a bunch of tiny ripples down the styling line or crease, or whatever you call it on the middle of the stock infiniti hood from where the dog had depressed the hood and it didn't pop back right. This is not noticeable to anyone who doesn't know my car, but it is killing me. Is this something I can get fixed or will I need to eventually replace the hood-$$$. I don't have any pics to show exactly what happened but I hope someone will understand what I tried to explain. Thanks

That's a shame--no offense but we'll probably be seeing your uncle on a future episode of Animal Precinct if he's in NYC.

That's totally unacceptable, any situation where somebody cannot control his dogs. And what's with this part wolf thing? Does he have an autobody shop, cuz what's with 7' fencing? Totally bizarre, it's too bad your car got messed up.

I know someone who had 2 full bred wolves. His neighbors tried to kill one and successfully killed the other. People didn't like the fact that he had wolves as pets.

it's illegal in most states to have any part wolf for a pet.... with good reason, too

to some extent. if raised from pre-weaning and treated like a puppy, it would be more like a dog than a wolf. while it has somewhat genetic tendencies towards hunting, it would be no worse than a pit bull or rotweiler. o/t sorry.

Infinit30t: You know what to do....shoot those b@stards.

In hindsight, the cat that used to fall asleep EVERY night on the hood of my car was cute. It was declawed so there never was any scratches...plus they only weight like 10 lbs.

When you say hunting, I don't think you mean in the style of a Lab, Golden, Chesapeake, etc., where somebody shoots waterfowl and the dog goes into icy waters and retrieves it. You mean attacking and killing other animals like on Wild Kingdom. It took hundreds of years to breed certain characteristics into the various dogs. Taking a wolf from 7 weeks on, sure, it could make a difference, but it still isn't gonna make for a very good pet. Seems like many don't realize that the Pit Bull isn't even recognized as a breed. It's a shame you see scores of them in high kill shelters, and that's not their fault, it's people's fault.

I don't think you can do anything about those dents. Maybe see if a paintless dent repair shop can do something. If you want it absolutely perfect the hood will have to be replaced.

I feel your pain though. I just had a crapload of white epoxy paint specks all over my black car and it took me 20 hours to remove them all. Unfortunately I removed some of the black paint on my spoiler in the process and that will have to be repainted. I'm hoping to get restitution on it though.

I have this cat who weighs about 18 pounds and has 7 claws on each paw (yeah he's a freak of nature). He sleeps on my car every now and then. So far there are no dents or scratches, but it annoys the crap out of me because he leaves little dirty paw prints all over my car.

I meant hunting for food. It needs to eat. But yes, its not fair to the animals.

Oh geez...

Frankenstein's monster then.

Oh, and throw Vlad the Impaler in there as well (aka Dracula).

Why not Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still while you're at it...

One of my tenants has this big fat orange cat that I call Garfield. In the day, especially during the spring, summer and fall, he'll let the cat out all day and when I'm home on my day off, I occassionally will look out the window to see where the fat cat is. Just last week, he was out and sitting by my car, so I hit the panic alarm button.

Someone's gotta keep Garfield on his toes/claws.....

Cats, they have an incredible work ethic. NOT

How many cats were working at the WTC? Dogs are bred with certain instincts, such as retrieving, shepherding, guarding, etc. I really don't believe that anybody can justify not having control over a dog. It has to do with imho whether the dog feels it's the alpha or it feels the owner is the alpha. I know somebody whose dog has bitten children and other dogs and yet she still believes it's not her fault or her dogs.

I've had cats all my life, and much prefer them to dogs.

Bottom line for me - I could never want to see any living, thinking thing hurt, so that concept just makes me sad.

My parents have a 1/2 Wolf 1/2 German Shepard - she weighs 120lbs and her paws are almost as big as my hand.

And she's never growled at any human that was welcome into the house. She's a great guard dog, and seems to know who's welcome and who's not. She never, ever, bites tho.

She once caught a guy trying to break into my old car, and scared the crap out of him by growling and nipping at him.....she chased him right off. Just howled (she doesn't seem to know really how to bark - it's more of a half-howl/half bark) which I heard and it made me come outside to watch the guy running away. - just some minor damage to the window seam of the car, but nothing stolen.

It was an awesome sight.

On the other hand, whenever we have a new kitten or puppy in the house, she cares for it like it's hers - she'll keep the kittens from going outside, and even picks them up in her mouth and move them back into the living room when they wander off.

Just an awesome dog altogether.....she also lets me lay on the floor and watch TV and use her as a pillow.

I know, but fortunately, I've seen him take a liking to the honda civic parked in the street. As long as he stays away from my max, he's free to roam anywhere......or else, he won't be roaming!
