Can any one give me their opinion of Bridgestone Potenza S-03 tires
After losing a tire to a pot hole I'm going to be getting new tires and the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 is what I am leaning towards right now, but if anyone has any alternatives that I should consider please let me know. They are a bit pricey at around $190 a piece though. I am looking for a tire that handles good in wet conditions as well as dry.

my mom's IS300 came with those tires and they hold really well in both wet and dry weather. Sorry it isnt a max, but I hope it helped. For that price you might want to look into toyo proxes T1-S, I had those on the max and loved them. Try treaddepot.com

i only drove on my S-03s in the rain a few times. wet traction seemed pretty good. not outstanding but 100 times better than the stock potenzas. dry traction was absolutely superb. the tires are pretty soft though. if you abuse them they wont last very long.

S-03's
Have mine on the car for about 9k miles now. They are very sticky in both the dry and wet. They are a little noisier when about half way worn, but very little. I am a conservative older driver, but these tires will not see but about 15k before having to get replaced. About 40% tread remaining.

what's the treadwear rating on those. I had some Yoko AVS intermediates, and got close to 30 kmiles, w/ rating of 160.

That said, the S02s are stickier in the dry but no longer manufactured except in some OEM sizes for cars that came with them (unless they've stopped doing that as well without my knowledge). S03s are more of a wet tire, based on the design of bridgestone's F1. They are sweet tires, and the price reflects that. I agree, another tire to consider in the same league would be the T1-S which I am a big fan of.

Hmm ... I have both the Toyo T1-S's and the S-03's (not yet installed).
The T1-S's were absolutely phenomenal .. it's more like a heaven and hell difference between stock and T1-S's (that may be a little sacriligious .. but that's how different they are!).

Just another testimonial..
Phenominal traction on the dry, awesome in the wet, very very quite when new, much noisier when past the 1/2 treadlife mark, suck in the snow and they wear out very fast.
Would I buy them again? Considering how many times they put a smile on my face when I tackeld a corner, YES. However, since I don't have money to replace them every 15K miles with my driving, no.
Hope this helps.

I have both ... they also stick like glue in wet & dry AND have a higher tread life rating.
