Not anymore. Cops know why people carry them.

I think it all depends how you talk to the officer. I know people around me that use them.

what is the proper way to show them, do you hand it to them with ur lisence and registraiton or hand them the lisence and registration first and show them the card. Also, should the card have the name and badnumber of the person who gave it to me?

i carry a "family member" pba card from my buddy i went thru the academy with...i've been pulled over numerous times and am ALWAYS let off, and sometimes even get an apology...a regular pba card might get you off but usually they'll keep the card...they wont keep a "family member" card...the only way i could see getting a ticket is if i was doing something stupid...30 mph over in a residential neighborhood, DWI, etc...

:knocks on wood:

as far as etiquette goes, just be polite and when they ask for your credentials, hand them the card as well, be ready for them to ask you "who gave this to you"...be polite, and apologize and you'll most likely be on your was as a happy man (or woman)...

this is in NJ...i dunno about other states...

when a somebody give you a card it should be sign in the back, when you want to use your card just give to the cop together with your license and registration and i usually put it on top, just make sure you know the person who gave you the card, i for got to mention before, i don't think pba or fop card will bail you out if you get stop dwi

Here in California, the equivalent ticket-busting piece of paper is the Highway Patrol 11-99 foundation membership. It's way expensive tho, so the only people you see with it are expensive sports cars. They get a licence plate frame that says they are a member, and an elastic strap to attach the paper to your licence. The membership goes to benefit the families of CHP officers killed in the line of duty.

Here in FL a concealed weapons permit is just as good if not better.
