to a group of performance enthusiasts...

yea, thats all people looks for is big engines. But making all their cars fast won't necessarily sell high figures to the general public.

I dislike the new styling of the new Z. The new Sentra SE-R is badass though. I wouldn't mind having one.

They need to bring the Skyline GT-R here NOW asap!

I like the fact that Nissan is changing things up a bit, however I don't like that fact that the Maxima is going to get larger in size. i think the new Z is ugly. It looks ok from the rear, but the front sucks.

Oh man,

If Nissan can muster up the testicular fortitude to drop a 3.5 liter VQ in the 5th gen, I'll be driving Maxima's for a looong time to come

Price price price

I think what is up with Nissan is low price. The 2001 Sentra is very cheap, but how long can a car company keep selling cars below invoice the first/second year they come out?

I think we are all Maxima owners due to pricing consideration--biggest bang for the buck. 190 hp back in 1994-1995 was absolutely screaming.

But there's no heritage to this company--obviously twin turbo Z's were discontinued...

As bad as BMW sales/service is, and as high as their prices are, their sales were up 60% in December. Meanwhile everyone else is offering incentives on 2001's already.

see....thats just it......

Nissan ISN'T doing the incentive thing anymore. I think they did it once this year. A couple years ago they would do their big 1500 cash back stuff. THEN they were not making on money on the car. However, a dealer can sell the car for .01 over invoice. It doesn't hurt Nissan(well maybe in a long techincal way it would ) but as long as NISSAN is discounting the cars they are fine. Sales are up....infact....some months the maxima is the sales leader...NOT the altima.

All the se-r's are gonna fly right out the door. Look....there are even intergra owners who are developing respect for it...not bad. I'm not saying the car is better....but it may be a vaild alternative to a honda(which is a nice car).
