Tint bubbles?

Not really a maxima specific question but I just had my tint done and there's a few tiny bubbles on the little rear window. The guy swore to me it's normal and it would probably bubble worse over the next few days before later going away.

Was he just lying to get me out the door or is this normal?

Well, the small bubbles will go away as the tint settles.

the sun evaporates the moisture and the bubbles will slowly disappear....it may take up to a month (or more depending on the weather) for your tint to completly cure

if they are still there in a month go back and let them squeegee them out

if the bubbles get bigger....did the tint come with a warranty

I got my tint in December and it took almost a month for all the bubbles to go away, It has to do with the weather.

it's normal, and they'll go away over the next few days. I left my rear defroster on and it "cooked" the bubbles out.

I am getting my windows retinted on Thursday afternoon going from 17%(20%) to 32%(35%). It is because I got a ticket about a month and half ago for it being too dark oh well. Just another hard it in my wallet but if it makes the cops happier then that is fine.

Ok, thanks for the help. Guess he wasn't lying to me. Luckily I live in Arizona and it's supposed to be 85+ degrees for the rest of the week so it should cure pretty fast.

I wasn't able to get a warranty because I went below the legal limits of the state (35% front max and rear as dark as you want), and I did 6% all around. So no receipt and no warranty. Shouldn't have to worry too much about tickets because limo tint is VERY common here. Even cop cars tend to be limo because it's fairly unbearable when its 115 in the summer.

Yeah, I was REAL upset to see bubbles form the day after I got my 5%. But they will evaporate from the sun.

time for summer!!

Going below the limit doesnt give them the right to void a warrantee, thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard on their actions.

Now that you mention it, it does seem weird that it voids the warranty. I guess its because I need a receipt to have warranty and by doing that it puts his shop as the person who did "illegal" work on my car.

Its probably because if you get in trouble with the tints, the shop is not liable to fix the problem or change out the tints.

It is better to have the tints done in the summer where the water can just evaporate but if you can wait just get a boxcutter and put a small slice where the bubbles are and push the air and/or water out.

Maybe you would, but I would never do this. If it has bubbles after a month, bring it back... warranty or no, they should fix bubbling in the tint.
