I just saw this over a co-workers pc here--but unfortunately I didn't get the URL. Can anyone comment/ confirm this? It is about the 2003 Maximas. I skimmed the article briefly that the current generation of maximas (5th) are going to be changed/ redesigned for the 2003 year with a new body, and an engine similar to the 2001 Pathfinder-- a 3.5 Liter which will crank out somewhere of 260hp, and the altimas will get carried over to the currently maxima chasis--with the choice of the 2.5 Liter or a new 3.2 liter engine.
I hope the new ones then will have a nicer looking rear end...what a short life cycle for the 5th gen. And all of them will be made in the US from then on.

rumors, rumors...

I'll believe it when I see it, but if it's true I'll be glad to have the last model Maxima built in Japan. After seeing a friends experiences with a brand new Mustang recently, i'm begining to think that Ford assembly line employee's are blatenly drunk all day at work. not sure but I thought the ford plant was in Tennesee? isnt that where nissan's is too? i hope they find some better workers than ford has!!

Lots of rumors about this.

Supposedly the Maxima will get larger for 2003 with a V8...

Supposedly the Maxima will get an SE-R version for 2002 with a VQ30DE or VQ35DE with 260~280hp....

Supposedly the Altima will move up to the Maxima's current size and get the VQ....

Supposedly Brian will actually buy a Maxima someday...

Get the picture?

No one's really sure yet.
