I have my dampening at 4 front 4 rear as a starting point. haven't really started messing with it. it's probably going to be months till i have everything just right.
Oh, btw, decide what height you want your car FIRST, BEFORE you install them so as to save you the headache of doing it twice like I did.

<<< Just paid $1.76 for gas in NW IN. If it was in Chicago, it would be $2.05. Prices are for Premium.

In fact... no!
But that's actually just my opinion. Keeping in mind that I actually prefer bone jarring, kidney popping suspension. However, I must say, the JIC's are by far the quietest, most pliant coilover system i've ever experienced. At conservative settings, the ride is stiffer and more controlled than stock, yet surprisingly smooth. Which is also the beauty of adjustability. I can confidently say that the ride is closer to 'stock' than any other lowering combination I have driven.
Sorry about the crappy photo, I'm too embarassed at my winter car care to take a daytime photo. Full detail day on saturday though, will post more pics!

Looks good, and that gas price is ridiculous, I pay 1.73 for 93 octane.

Chinkzilla,
Matthel told me that the ride quality does suffer...
you say that it's better than any lowering suspension combination? How about H&Rs and AGX? That's what I'm running now and I think the ride is as nice as it can get.
anyway some info would be cool...I might invest in a set soon.

I've tried the H&R's with Tokico HP's and AGX's...Koni's are by far more controlled and comfortable. Having a shortened strut body or custom rear mounts really makes the difference. So much that I swapped out my sister's AGX on her Accord and installed the custom shortened body Koni shocks from Neuspeed. Not only are do they offer more suspension travel, they have a 5 level spring perch to raise and lower the car about a margin or .5" The ride is sooooo much better than the AGX's in both cases. The beauty of a true coilover system like JIC, Apex'i, Cusco, and Tanabe is that the have matched shortened struts to increase the suspension travel. Other aftermarket struts are designed to be used with stock ride heights.

What it comes down to is not bottoming out, and no 'clunking' or other noises. That sealed the ticket for me.

I'm hearing good things about the Illuminas. I have not heard one bad thing about them on other applications...although they'd be better if they had shortened strut bodies. I the R suspension kit that Tokico makes (the matched threaded strut and spring) has the extra suspension travel.
But yeah with the Motivational rear mount, you should be fine. If you want a set of rear Illuminas. No limit motorsport has them for $75 each rear shipped. I also got them to do a deal for the ACT Clutch and Fidanza Flywheel for $675 shipped or something...you're gonna have to search the GD section.

I concur with kevin wong. Although it's a given that any aftermarket suspension will be a compromise between ride quality and handling, the JIC's perform remarkably well for the handling gains that you see. It really comes down to what your definition of a 'good' ride quality is. I personally enjoy a firmer ride, and think that it rides better without that 'floaty' feeling. The JIC's are able to accomplish this better than a lowering spring + shock combo because the coilover system is designed to be able to provide consistent travel regardless of the drop. Depending on your settings, how much you preload the springs, and the tires/rims you run, your mileage may vary.
