Search is down (I know this has been talked about before) but I was wondering what mods this Max had specifically. The sound is what I am most curious about, it sounds like he has a varialbe intake on it (is that what it sounds like?), it has some serious hissing and change over coming from the intake, what kind of intake is that?

Back at that time he had what the video said. Since he has been S/C and laughing gas-ed (I believe).

i don't think he ever had Nitrous

 

Well one more thing to factor in, the Max got a real good jump on the SI (not like he had a chance anyway) but the max was at WOT atleast 2sec be4 the SI hit it.

Never mind the head start the Max got, still pretty funny

 

In that street race at the very beginning you hear the maxima but the honda kicks in right after and you here the honda all the way to the end. thats what i believe, i got in an arguement with someone that says in that race what you hear is the maxima all the way to the finish, no way i said, you cannot hear the maxima over the honda civic the entire race,the camera and microphone is in the honda civic si. Any comments? what car do you mainly hear in that run? taking a survey !

Are you for real. No survey is needed, of course it's the Civic. The Max too far ahead to hear anything, since the camera/mic is in the Civic

 

You pretty much got it.
But I remember looking at his car. And I believe to be exact he had the Place Racing Cold Air intake, Stillen Y-pipe, and Greddy catback. I'm not 100% sure it was the stillen y, it could have been a cattman.

And brian also mentioned that the Si had intake, headers and exhaust, when I talked to him over AIM.

Most of the sucking sound you hear in the beginning is probably his cold air intake. All maxima intakes make sucking noises.

 

The Maxima should have a big advantage over the Si from a roll anyway, even if they where close in the 1/4. With it's wide power band the VQ is always fast, the Si's high RPM power rquires a very agressive launch to get any kind of decent time. It sounds like the Max hit it about 1/2 second earlier than the Si, But it obviously wouldn't have made a difference, that guy got ripped bad

 

That's what I was talking about, was the sound at the very begining, you hear the hiss, then the deep growl of the maxima that slowly goes away as he gets further ahead, I was wondering what kind of intake he had because it sounded like variable valve timing, I guess it was just a popcharger and it hitting the rpm 'sweet spot' for the cams unless it had the gas.
