VQ35DE into a 4th gen?

Is it possible to swap a 2k2-2k3 engine into a 4th gen body?

no offense, but you're gonna get these soon ---> &

this has been asked many a time and i believe is in the faq's. i'd delete this before it gets out of hand. i believe you'll be told the gains are not worth the money, better off to turbo or supercharge. take it easy.

yeah unless they create a turbo or supercharger for the 3.5 VQ (it'll come) then it will be a good investment. except how do u plan to get one in the first place? just curious of ur plan.

Wait

Forget the engine, read the FAQ's, its possible but its very expnsive, It would be better to get the 350z engine setup, and then if you have more money you could buy that TT setup they have for it. This is if you have enouph (MONEY Couph Couph) Just get a Turbo and crank some boost, If you have auto you need a VB Mod a Tranny Cooler and a TORQE Converter to get the most out of your car, or your gonna kill it fast

If you are going to talk, know what you are talking about. He cannot use the a used 350z engine it is rear-wheel drive. He will have to get one from a max.

If you want to do engine swaps, buy a honda. Maximas are not hondas and we all have great motors, stock! The money you would put into getting a stock VQ35 into your Max, you could have a turbo'd or S/C's VQ30 cranking out more than that VQ35 might ever see.

If you can get the whole motor and ECU it would be doable, but in the few k$ range.

since we got the only guy here on the org that has the experience w/ the vq35 and vq30 i'll ask u...from wat u see...does the motor mounts from the vq35 motor seem to inline w/ the current mounting position on the 4th gen body???

From what I have seen, yes. It looks like using the VQ30 mounts attached to the VQ35 block, the VQ35 will "bolt" right in to a 4g. Still yet to be proven, but I am betting on it.

I said for the money it would cost buying the engine, you could have a killer VQ30.

wat if a person decides to go the n/a route vs. force induction??? i'm not trying to argue w/ u or anything...but my point was...many peep here on the org tend to believe if it wasn't made for the car then it won't work...when the question of motor swap comes up...yes i admit most of them are just far out of reach and very ignorant...everyones comes in and gives the typical answer...w/ the money anything is possible...it's not worth the money... blah blah blah...thas y all of the engine swap thread are crap...filled w/ typical answers...even flames then locked...and everyone goes on and say y don't u go do a search..it's been mentions millions of time..i think this is a fairly good example...vq30det...before that guy tilley or wateva his name is did his swap...everyone's answer was not worth the time or money...or the firewall needs to pushed out more cuz there's no room or wateva...then they go..for the money u can get a supercharger w/ better result...and w/ turboing a vq...prior to the two kit that came out...everyone was against it...they said it would cost to much...everyone was like...well if it was so easy to turbo a vq then y hasn't jwt or the bigger company made one yet?? blah blah bha...in the end...it was proven wrong...

Actually if I had the choice of two engines: both V6 power
1) 280hp na ie.. 3.5VQ 350z engine
2) 280hp turbo ie.. let's say 3.0 VQ or 3.0 VE motor

I'd take the na power probably. Much more reliable and probably much better throttle response. Also I'd rather start at 280hp na and go from there vs trying to up the boost on a 280hp turbo motor already.
