Leased Vehicle Question. thanx
i currently have about 4-5months left on my leased
nissan 2000 maxima gxe. i do plan on getting another maxima(not lease this time though) i'll never lease again.
i'm already over 5000 miles on its limit.
Car has been in a several minor accidents. it has some KEYED scratches on my hook and trunk.
Anybody ever returned a leased vehicle?
how carefully do they check on wear and tears?
i'm very concerned because i heard once they estimate how much i must pay, there is absolutely nothing i can do about it.
So before i return my vehicle i want to make it look clean as possible.
i'm also wondering " do insurance company pay for damages like keyed scratches in which i have not done myself". i do have a full coverage btw.
any advice guys?? what da hell should i do to minimize the wear and tear cost?
thanx guys

Anything bigger then the size of a quarter and your wallet is going to feel it. Deep scratches (keyed) are going to cost you 300 - 400 bucks per pannel. If your going to buy another car from the dealer your returning your leased car to, try to make a deal with them.

Anyhow, from what people have told me in the office it's not that bad turning in a leased car. Try to get them to come to your office and bless-off on the return a day in advance. Usually such a mole doesn't check things too well. My friend returned a VW with massive dings and a check engine light on. A babe returned an Accord coupe with cigarette burns on the seats. Both of them had their cars checked out at work, not at the dealership.
Sorry to hear about the 5k overage. There goes another couple grand. Leasing is a joke, all the responsibilities of ownership (tax (property too, and it's not your property), insurance, maintenance), none of the benefits. Then again, that $299 payment on the 9-3 or 325i is a small price to pay for prestige. Over 800 is the cost of financing to own.
