Where to draw the line???

Hey guys/girls,

I wanted to do something a little different from the norm.
We always talk about what we want to get for our cars. But on a different note; is there anything that you would not buy for your Max because you feel it’s an overkill?

i.e. $7000 HRE rims, I feel is to much for a Max.

Please share your feelings...

Nice

I was quoted $7000 for a paint job. Won't be happening.

Wings

Someone should put a monster wing on the roof and/or hood, that would be unique

actually i saw a picture of that on a volkswagon golf somewhere. I am not sure where, it was either at Beaterz.com or from one of there links. I noticed it like 2 weeks ago.. it was so strange!!! It also had 2 spoliers bolted on the back of it! Like the old version (93-95) is RWD or something! I mean, you need to be RWD and be going at least 150 for a wing like that to have any function!!! lol

edit: OMG... i just found this.. i almost fell off my seat!!!!!!

http://www.beaterz.com/reviews/0300/p49.htm

oh what the heck, just go to http://www.beaterz.com and laugh you @$$ off!!

its an entirely different mentality. i am sure most people think i have gone overboard on my car a few times, and what's funny is that i am starting over in a lot of areas real soon.

7k for some HRE's isn't bad. They are HRE, what do you expect?

I think that changing the color of the clock is going too far, and I think getting a turbo and set of HRE's is a good starting point. It all depends on what you can afford to spend, but if its tooo much, then why not go with a better car to build from?

I am thinking that if you tailgate that driver, one of two things may happen..

1) your windshield will get blown out is he floors it.
2) He will push the red button in his car and a Missle will shoot
out and blow you up!! HAHAHAHA

stupid ricers. lol

i believe he means how much spending for mods is the max worth?
for example, "is the max worth getting HRE's for?" not "is 7k a good price for hre?"

my opinion is that the max is an economical car, so it should be kept modest. going "all out" is best for a much more expensive car. but it all depends on your taste ultimately, as it always does.

It's really all about how much money you want to spend to make you car the way you want it. If I had the money to spend, nothing would be overkill. But I cannot afford a turbo, so for me, that's overkill.

You just can't try to view it as an investment, because economically, nothing you buy for your car is going to be worth it. You will never get as much out of it (monetarily) as you put into it.

That being said, my max brings me joy every day I look at it and even more when I drive it. This increases with every mod I buy for it, and so for me, the stuff I buy is worth it.
