Anyone ever have their paint refinished?

Anyone ever have their paint refinished?

Like, not new paint, but I guess a polish or finish to get rid of ugly scars and scratches. So keeping original paint. What's the average cost for this?

Any information in regards to getting the car's original paint re-done would be great appreciated.

Thanks.

It depends on where you are and where you go, but expect to pay anywhere from $65 to a couple hundred. The good places will charge you more, but it is well worth the extra dough. What color is your car?

... That's it? I was really thinking it'd cost a lot more than that. My Max is Dark Evergreen. It's got so many scratches and little chips. Very annoying.

So we're looking at a 'refinishing' job or 'polish'? As far as I heard, it's basically getting your paint refinished.

Anyways, thanks for the info. I'm sure it'll be worth it

Like I said, it depends on what all you want done. It can range from a light polish and wax to touch-up paint, cutting compound with a rotary buffer (eek), polishing compound with rotary, finer polish with orbital, wax with orbital. Provided that your paint is in reasonably decent shape, it will have the deep wet glassy look that you're after. Also, most people call it a polish, or exterior detailing. Take the car to a reputable detail shop and talk to them for a bit about your options.

Oh boy, looks like I'm going to have to do some more since there's actually that many options for exterior paint work. I actually thought it'd be quite simple.

Not sure on how good of a shape the paint is it, I haven't done any waxing or anything to the paint since I got it. Look's OK except for the scratches and chip's.

I'll look up a few places and start asking questions then, thanks for the info though.

POLISH!
