Can somebody explain the process for me? Are new sets of windows used or do they take your original ones and tint it?

What's up MaxPerformanceSE.......

.... to answer your questions, You will be tinting your original windows. If you take your car to a tint shop, they will measure and cut the tint film to the size of your window and then using a spray bottle they will wet your window with a mixture (soap and water) is mostly used and apply the cut sheet of tint on the inside of the window and squeege out the excess water some places will use a heat gun on the window after this step to help in the application of the tint. The windows might look foggy for a few days that's just the glue from the tint it will go away. I always said it's like hanging wallpaper. As for shades 35% which is light to 10% which is what you'll see on limos. 10% for example means that percentage of light comming thru the tinted glass.
