0172 & 0300 code?
I know that "0172" is Rich in the right bank (I
think thats the front) and "0300" is Misfire of mulyiple cylinders"
Does that mean that my coil packs are going bad?
What code did you guys (& gals) get when your coil packs went bad?
My car info:
2000 Maxima, V2 SC and CAI.

ok
0172 - running a little too rich it seems...check the following -- front heated o2 sensor, injectors, exhaust gas leaks, incorrect fuel pressure, mass air sensor...
check the exhaust leak first (start the car, and listen near the exhaust.
then check the MAF area for leaks
check the voltage or what not on the front heated o2 (front most?)
check the fuel pressure....release the 15A fuse in the fuse box, and start car, till it dies, then give it a few more cranks....get a fuel gauge (if possible), and check the pressure...at idle, with the fuel pressure regulator valve vacuum hose connected should be 235 kPA, with it disconnected, should be about 294 kPA..
then check the mass air sensor
injectors (listen if you hear anything wrong)
0300 - i'd say just start your engine up, and disconnect each coil pack one at a time...notice for a change in tone of each after unplugging it....if it stays the same, probably a screwed coil...also check your plugs...
all in all, take it to nissan

I took it the the dealer and they replaced the coil packs under warranty.
Same problem is still happening.
I did discover that my fuel precure drops at normal driving and the ruff idle is actually more like a sputter the whole time that I drive the car normal.
I was coming home from the dealership and was cruising along at 2500 rpm and turned the radio & A/C off and could tell that the car seemed to sputter. (only under normal driving)
The fuel presure seems to drop at idle along with the rpms. Also the FP drops at a steady speed on the highway.
Could it be my factory fuel presure regulator?
I have a Walbro that gives me 90-100 psi at boost.
Also I think I have my sending unit for my FP guage in the wrong place. It is between the factory FP regulator and the FMU.
I think that Greddy shows that it needs to go on the feed end.
Sorry for this being so long, but I really am stumped.

no all this happened when I blew my MAF and went thru 3 from the dealer til I got one that was the right one. (they gave me the wrong parts before we discovered a TSB on my car)
So in other words I took a bunch of things apart trying to figure out the problem, when it was the MAF the whole time. Now I have the right MAF but have this one small anoying problem.
