Opinion on front accidents & body shops

I got into an accident with my 2002 maxima se. A drunk driver ran a red light and smashed into me in the left front at about 30mph. My car was hit all the way up front, so far up there was no door damage. I asked around a lot and decided on a highly reccomended body shop.

It's been 2 weeks, and I got my car back today. It 'looks' good, but doesn't feel the same. There is noticable vibration in the steering and the car even pulls on flat surface.

The body shop seemed to really know what they were doing, had some very expensive custom alighnment equipment, and they claimed to get my car as 'best as it could be'.

I've heard that sometimes your car just isnt the same after a front accident. Is there anything I can have checked out or do to try to get back to original condition? Anyone else have this experience with accidents?

thnx.

Try to get an alignment done. Cars never drive the same after an accident.

Sounds like your car took a solid hard hit. While it my look the same, after an accident seldom do they drive the same. My suggestion would be to get an alignment whereby the shop gives you a printout of all the specs. This way you'll be able to determine if one of your suspension items is bent, if one of your specs (caster, camber, toe, angle..) is way out of factory settings. Its possible something maybe bent and missed during the repair.
