Anyone run more than 15A on headlights fuses?
#1
My headlight fuses blew out, wondering if anyone tried upping the amperage on headlight fuses. Theoretically there is a very high chance of melting the stock fuse connectors at anything higher than stock amperage (15A), but anyone put 20A or 30A fuses on without frying the relays or wires? Thanks

Melting the headlight connector is easy to fix. You raise that fuse. Headlight switch might melt..along with wires near the relays. OR worst start a in cabin fire under your dash. You know 30A is alot of electricity.

HID Ballast needing 30A...
During start up, the HID ballast draws 30A of current. After 2-3 seconds, it maintains a 7-15A draw. After 5 months (until last night), my headlight fuses blew. They were stock 15A fuses that; before the HID retrofit, were attached to overwattage bulbs (85W) for about 5 months without frying. Since all HID ballasts draw more current from the battery or alternator initially, I was wondering if there was a safe alternative. Am I going to be swapping out 15A fuses every couple months since I have a power hungry 30A lighting system? I think upping the fuse amp will ultimately melt the fuse connectors. Thanks for all the help.
