Just waxed the Max for the first time I thought it looked nice before.. You gotta love that smooth feel a freshly waxed car has under a nice soft towel..Ohhhh...and that shine...Uh, I need some alone time now, you'll have to exuse me.

the bugs really like wax too - they must think it smells like food or somethin, cause after I wax, i attract more flying insects than fly paper.

Yes, i like waxing to (not really), but I do like to see the shine after buffing it off. I use mequires mirror glaze and the I use Meguries Gold Class. Remember, 24 hours between each coat.

Nice pics Dr Johnny! I did my blue 97 SE this past weekend too. Took me 5 hours to wash, clay, polish (Megs #7) and wax (Pro Yellow Wax). Awesome results! The polish really adds a deep wet look!

Yeah took me 5 hours to do the Max this last weekend. I washed with Dawn, Clayed, and then Waxed with Eagle One. I have used Eagle One for my last car and the Max and love it. I just haven't heard of too many people using it.

I would like to polish mine before I wax next time too. I didn't this time because I didn't have a buffer at my disposal, and my arm was tired enough after just waxing, lol. A few people said I probably don't need to polish first but its a 95 and I wonder if it has ever been done so...I want to get the most of of the factory paint before i consider painting it. I'll probably put a kit on it sometime an have the whole thing painted.
Peace

I did mine sunday... i used the mothers clay bar and the meguires 3 step. The car felt like sandpaper before and about 5 hrs later, she was more smooth and shiny than when i bought her. I leaned up on the fender and actually almost slid off!

I saw that today, THANKS SPRINT. I went to Jerry Rome Nissan to get a price on it... with the .Org Discount it is $1706.71 and after tax... $1792.05. Retails for $2275.62 (w/o tax) Thats almost 600.00 less with my org discount. They both cost the same (non-lsd and lsd). Thanks again sprint.

Dawn? As in dish soap?

I use Liquid Glass polish, and eagle one wax. I'm thinkning about switching from Eagle one tho, i'm starting to not like it. The shine is nice, but it involves putting the equivalent of 5 coats of wax on to get a nice shine. That, and water doesen't bead off of it very well unless it gets the 5 coats of wax. Plus, it's very hard to work with. Application is easy, but buffing it out is a pain in the ***. I buffed with a combination of a 10" random orbit buffer, a 4" buffer, and buffing it by hand for over an hour, and it still left wax marks. The last time i put it on, i put about half as much on, and it buffed out easier, but it doesen't have the same shine. It's sad to say, but turtlewax did a better job.

not true. I used klasse on my car and it always attracted flying insects. I think they think it's water or something.

I don't think iti's the water, since everytime i wash the car, bugs aren't attracted to it until i wax it.

I just used it the other day and its basically just a bar of clay. It digs down to the clearcoat and removes all the sap, contaminants and such. Gives a really smooth feel to it. It gets it as close to factory smoothness as you can get. Just polish and wax after you clay bar and your car will shine like never before.

Don't forget to cut your whole clay bar into smaller pieces before starting the claying procedure. You'll be glad you did in case you drop the clay bar onto the ground.

I love Klasse. It is so easy to use and lasts sooooooo much longer than Carnauba. Carnauba attracts way to much dust IMO.

I've waxed my parents '02 Max with Zaino Z1 and Z2 before.

Just use Dawn dish soap to clean the car apply Z1 and then Z2 over it and buff it out. Next wash you just have to clean the car with normal car wash soap and apply only Z2.

I want to get Z5 swirl and scratch remorver and Z7 I think it is Gloss Shine. Car blings with that crap on!!

Zaino is awesome and easy to put on!

autopia.org, and use the search function there.

We should definiately open up a detailing forum...

I'm pretty sure the smell of any wax, whether it be Meguiar's, Klasse, Zaino, etc. is what attracts bugs. Or at least for the most part.

I really don't like using Carnauba...it's the worst w/ bugs. Especially Souveran...but it smells really good.

I agree, and TurDz and I should be made co-moderators.

Souveran rules, but too rich for my blood. For the price P21S on Klasse looks almost as good.
