I was daydreaming again, and was thinking about one of the major problems with drag racing FWD cars like the Maxima. With added power, when you take off, the weight of the car shifts from front to back. On RWD cars, that's good because it helps put more weight on the driving tires, meaning less wheel spin. On FWD cars, it makes the front lighter, causing MORE wheel spin, hindering lower ETA's. My question is this, why not place some type of block in the rear springs, (rubber pref. so you have some shock protection) to keep them from compressing, helping to keep the weight towards the front. Mind you you couldn't use this one the street, but a lot of guys go to the track. I have never taken mine to the track, and don't know that much about drag racing , so I could be way off base with this, but what the hell, I'm bored at work again.

Dreams can come true..>

They are called spring block and can be bought at any PepBoys or auto store. Go to the 4x4 towing section and you
will see the rubber block with half moons cut in an all sides. They are for when you are towing trailers or other heavy equipment.

I have used them my last two times at the track and it helps alot. Insert two per spring and move then as high as possible inbetween the coil. Keep them even, you will need to jack the car up inorder to insert them but for $5 it works. $5 for a pack of 4 rubber block inserts.

Happy motoring!
