Suspension 101 question...

I am totally new to suspension upgrades and would appreciate some insight. What's the difference between lowering springs and coilovers? Pros and cons of each? Will using lowering springs on stock shocks and struts cause problems down the road? I'm totally in the dark. Thanks.

Dave.

Coilovers are basically lowering springs, however you can adjust the ride height of them from anyhere to 1" to 4" lower than stock. They will provide for the best handling but usually will make noise. Lowering springs are, depending on what brand, cheaper and are not adjustable. Usually they range from a 1" to a 2" drop. If you use lowering springs on the stock struts/shocks, they will most likely blow after some time, and handling won't improve much, might even get worse.
