5spd conversion - axle question

I've heard from Marti at Raxles that only 1 axle is needed to actually do the conversion - the other axle is the same Auto or 5spd.

But I can't remember - Passenger or Driver's side!?!?

I have 1 ABS 5spd Passenger side Axle that just arrived, and the person didn't send the other axle.

I have a brand new Raxles Driver's side axle on the car.

Can I use that, or am I screwed?!?

Thanks!

Both on a 5th gen. Stupid axles.

Yes, it should be the driver's side.

I'm converting to a 5spd...trying to figure out if the Auto Driver's side will work with the 5spd.....

(Not sure what you meant about "not sure about auto's", so I'm replying to what I thought you meant)

i was saying i am not sure about the auto-manual conversion if you need 1 or both axles..

but i do know when you change from 5spd non-lsd - 5spd lsd, then you need 1 axle.

You definitely need to change the driver's side.

#@$!!!!

That sucks.....

If he had just told me a week and a half ago when he shipped he wasn't sending the Driver's side, I would have bought one from Raxles....

Now I'm not going to have another weekend to do this until June.

OK - the local NAPA has an axle, but they want to cahrge $86.00 for a core....

I have 2 Raxles axles I paid over $100 each for in the last few months (with my axle problems last winter).

I'd rather not use one of those as the core....they're brand new, and I'd rather re-sell them to a good home.

If I could get away with swapping the passenger side axle as the core, can I use the Raxles passenger side axle I already have?

(Can I use an Auto non-ABS axle in the 5spd)

Thanks!

Good point...I'll call around tomorrow and see what else I can get - still need to know if I actually need the passenger side axle anyway - I'd rather keep the Raxles one on if I can.

if you have abs u need a abs axle if you dont have abs then u can use either one. only thing different between the two is that the abs axle has the little teeth that the abs sensor runs on. and yes u only need the drivers axle for the conversion. I went to the dealer and they looked up the numbers and the passanger side is the same number. in fact im going to pick up my axle and tranny tommorow

Cool.

So I can probably keep the Raxles Axle, buy a driver's side axle, and return the passenger one a few days later as the "core"....

Hopefully they won't notice.
