Need help from 5spd disassemblers!!!

Need help from some of you guys that have taken apart a 5spd tranny before...

We had taken apart the tranny to look at it because it wasn't shifting properly...the forks were out of alignment, and we fixed it.

But before we put the tranny back together, we noticed a bearing floating aorund....We found it in the circled area in the picture below:

The tranny was shipped to me, so it could have just ended up there - from being shaken around, we don't know.

The size of the bearing is illustrated by the next 2 pictures:

Can anyone tell me where this bearing could have come from, and if possible, how to put it back!?!?

We are trying to do the 5spd install this weekend, so a speedy repsonse would be awesome...

Thanks!

if its not the ball from the gate assembly, its the ball at the end of the spring that helps hold the the shiftfork rods in place.

Yeah thats no bearing. Thats from the striker rod linkage.

Theres 2 sizes of ball bearings in this tranny. Thers ONE larger one and SEVEN smaller ones. Once you identify the larger one, thats the one in the reverse gate assembly. The other ones reside in the various shifting rods.
