What is Tensor?

The mechanic told me that I need a new Tensor because it was broken. Also told me that they didn't break it and already broken when they try to change the belt. They want $120 for the part. What is Tensor and how much it cost to get new part(Tensor)?

Thanks

Never thought I'd see anything about tensors from this group.

Not for the faint-hearted

I had the same problem... it's something about the pulley... it goes with the alternator... but i believe the mechanics didn't tighten my belts and pulleys when they changed my alternator... so it all goes down hill from there....

may be it's the part that raise and lower the pulley so that belts can be taken off?
