I was talking to a fellow maxima owner who told me that he heard that there exists a kit to convert the maxima to a skyline (body only obviusly because the motor won't fit).
Just wondering, I'm working on obtaining the tail lamps from an R-33 and would really like to get the front end of an R-33 or R-34, but than again who wouldn't? :bounce:

What don't you like about the rear? The only thing I saw was whoever cut the trunk didn't cut it right above the lights on the inside. It looks like there is an overhang. I can't wait to get those lights so I can do mine, I think that is so F@*KING HOT!! Ofcourse I would love to just by a Skyline but who wouldn't??

It just doesn't go together. The rear fenders are all bulged out and it looks like ****. I would get the R-34 rear lights. They would go with the lines better..

the whole frikken car would look better if they had just slapped on a r34 front and rear. in fact the r33 tails might not look so bad if they had positioned them more towards the top of the trunk rather than having them so low.

Do you know who's yellow maxima that is? I saw it at Carlile, PA, if it the same one. From a distance it looked good but up close it was kinda sloopy, trunk wouldn't close right and the paint was messed up, but I value his efforts.
I'm going to do the tail lamps from the R-33, I like them better than the R-34, what's everyones thought about that?

same max you are talking about...there is a reason the paint looks/feels sloppy...i thought the same when i saw it at HIN and then i took a closer look at other shows...atco etc....the paint is rough to give it that irradescent look..the yellow/baby blue....you can sort of see it a little bit in the pic...

It's suppost to be yellow with pearl clearcoat. Anyway, he had the yellow paint before the rear conversion. The rear paint did not match the rest of the car. Really..really bad paint and body job.

That's what I thought, the doors were pearl yellow and the rest was??? Anyway he wasn't very friendly when I tried to talk to him, acted kinda like a Di@k! I guess he doesn't like competiton? So which lights should I do the 33" or the 34"'s. Where is the reverse light on the 34's anyway. I'm not sure I like them, but it could grow on me.

I just noticed that you won the NOPI Nationals. Which car was yours? I was there too.

The one that was put at the other Freakn end of the show!!! They stuck me on the outside left in the grass/dirt. I was pissed! Mine was the 1995 GXE white with blue/purple pearl, 17" Niche shocks, Razzi aero kit, Stillen SMX grill, dual exhaust, undercar neon kit. Chrome PPI amps that fold out from the trunk, tire well with mirrors, Alpine CVA-1005, playstation mounted in the back of the passenger seat. My car was on display with my friends Neon, we had a huge gray tarp with posts and a white chain around the cars. I also had a big mirrored sign board. Which one was yours? I didn't get to see many of the cars until Sunday, I didn't realize that most of the Maxima's were over on the right side of the pavilon. Not to mention the judges were, weak to say the least. I'm not upset becuase I won 1st place but they wouldn't even talk to you, what BS

I was over in the grass area with all the other Maximas and the Legends, Camrys, Mazdas, etc. Mine was the green one with the Stillen lip, WW thruster wing, 17" Borbets... The car parked next to me was Ming's, (MAC) and he won 1st place in the conservative class. What sucked was the our cars were judged about 30 minutes after we got there, while we were still unloading and cleaning. The judging was pretty pitiful in my opinion.

So you were in my class, the mild class becuase you had the lip right? You know what else sucked, did you to plant NOPI? They didn't have **** for our cars, not only that but they said if you ordered it there free shipping, not what they putz who helped me said. I was going to order a bunch of things, a few guages and a set of steel braided hoses, but the moron told me he would charge me shipping and he argued with me about the free shipping so I walked away, his loss. I think he didn't like me cause I didn't own a vetc product

Actually, I was in the conservative class. I didn't realize that the lip, and wing put me in the mild class. My friend was in the conservative class too, and he had the full kit, 18" Volks, 2 tone interior, and coilovers. He's the one that won the conservative class. Neither of us realized that we should have been in the mild class. Yeah, NOPI sucks, I didn't even bother with planet NOPI, it was a waste of time.

Do you have any pics? You all got lucky that the judges didn't catch that, but that shows they didn't care!
