i think a really nice color would be silver but not the maxima silver, like the really nice silver like i had of my p.o.s ford probe gt. Its was a great color, didnt show dirt or scratches or anything. Not like my evergreen max, shows everything. Sometimes I don't know why I wash it. I spend all that time waxing and stuff and in 30 minutes of driving it's all dusty again. But as for a all ready maxima color, white is the best.

Yup, the paint code on mine is DJ2, which is Black Emerald. Thats what I said in my earlier post, the color is inconsistant, even on the same car. BTW, I kept track of the number of maxima's (3rd, 4th and 5th gen) I saw last night and wrote down the numer of each color I saw. Note: I drove around where I normally see the large numbers of Black Emerald to purposely skew the results.

Black:7
White:3
Sand:2
Deep Evergreen/Black Emrerald:9
Red:2
Silver:1
Grey:1

See, it proves my point, I see too many green Maximas. I think that I'll take off all of the paint any drive around with just sheetmetal.

I must be lucky then. . . My black emerald is consistant all around as far as paint goes. My clear coat is just shot on the spoiler, which I guess is common. I haven't seen that many BE cars out here, although I know of one other one in the town where I live. . . I think I just need to paint mine blue so that I have a rare color.

hmmm, red 4th gen?

I saw that red 4th gen sig pic just yesterday, and I was like WHOA! What is that?
I have NEVER EVER seen one, not in person, and that was the first pic Ive ever seen, I did not know they exsisted. Seen the 3rd gens, and I think they look ugly.
Funny thing about the black emerald 4th gens, I NEVER EVER see them either.
I see alot of the gold & white.

My faves:
Black
White
Neptune Blue

all these weird names for colors....

can someone tell me the difference between Starfire and Neptune Blue? Does anyone have a pic of a MAx in each of these colors? Can you post them side-by-side.

maxima color wheel

IMO, super black is the sharpest, but after living with it on my 93 SE and becoming frustrated that I only had that superblack look a few days after a washing, I decided never to buy another black car. So, my next favorite is the shade of my new max...merlot...like a fine wine!

The red (maroon) and green 2Ks are nice but have basically the same problem as black with keeping clean. There are less problems with swirl marks. I was nearly sold on a red 2000 SE until I found out that the shifter didn't wiggle side to side.

There is nothing like a green on tan car. (except a red Ferrari, but let's no go there.)

The new 2001 blue is beautiful in the sun.

The 2000/1 white is absolutely beautiful during sunrise/sunset and is fairly simple to keep clean.

I love my lakeshore blue cause its really rare and it has a sliver tint to it. What is majestic blue? I have never heard of that and I'm wondering if its the same as lakeshore blue. I havent even heard one person talk about lakeshore blue either. I know its the name of the color cause when I specialy ordered my car I looked at the maxima catalog at the dealership and read lakeshore blue. I almost got a super black but there are a lot in my town. I like the sterling mist also. My last max was gold. Anyone else have the lakeshore blue?

While searching, did you happen to see any Satin Blue's?

The only blues I have seen are 3rd Gens. No 5th Gens yet. New numbers:
Black:93
White:70
Green(All colors):82
Red:12
Gray/Silver:22
Bronze/Brown:7
Blue:4

Oh well, maybe my theory on green being too popular was a little off. I now have my partner at work counting for me, hell I have nothing else to do between calls at night.

1.) Star-Fire Blue
2.) SuperBlack
3.) The new blue color on the 2k1 AE Max
4.) Icelandic White
5.) Neptune Blue
6.) Sterling Mist

I'm a huge Fan of blue (my favorite color) but my favorite type of blue was Electric Blue...until the EBP Civic Si was released.. now I see that color everywhere.
