0407: crankshaft position sensor? what to do?

this is what i got when i self diagnosed my car. 0407: crankshaft position sensor. what does this mean and what do i have to do to fix the problem. i got the engine light when i had a really tough tiime starting my car. I still have a tough time starting my car. What is the car doing?

0407 is the crank shaft position sensor (REF) It's the sensor that looks at the lower crank pully. Turn your steering wheel all the way to the right, take off the splash guard and the lower pully will be exposed. The sensor you need to change is right under that pully. It's an easy job, you don't even have to jack the car up to get at it. Two 10mm bolts hold it in place.
