Where to place jackstands?
#1
I goin to be puttin in my springs and shocks, when it gets warmer.. but when i was checkin my brakes, i was wondering where do i place my jackstands? Cuz i want to work safely under my max and i'm usin the stock jack... did i buy jack stands that were too tall? cuz the only place they would go under is the place where the stock jack fits and i don't think that lip is suppose to hold the whole car or is it? i tried under the rear beam but i couldn't jack up the car far enough for it to fit? i am thinkin of a shop jack, but dunno when i'll get that so any ideas...thanks.

Just crash into a sharp rock and hope it gets caught on the front bumper. Then go to work. Who needs jackstands ![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

reminder..thanks
OH, I need to grab my manual and find out exactly "where" the normal jack goes, since if someone mentioned it here, I dont know the terminology for the "regular" jack. Matter of fact, I need to check and make sure the car I just got "has' a jack..and I need to check on the spare. Ding! Last trip to Huntsville in the jeep, I had a blowout on the interstate...thats when I found out the kids had been playing with the jack....and it wasn't in the truck. :-( Thats also when I found out the spare that I'd never used, was flat. :-(( I remember before I got my license at 16, my Dad made me go out in the driveway and change a tire on one of their cars, great lesson and one I need to remember which each vehicle I get.

As for jacking the rear to change springs...no offense, but if you can't find a place to jack the car up maybe you should think about having a professional do the job.
