12.6 @ 106 mph

Finally broke the 13 second barrier on Sunday. Did 2 runs with the 100 shot, the other was a 12.7.

What was more interesting was my first run with a 35 shot. Pulled off a 13.4 @ 99.

N/A with full street trim and tires netted a 15.4 same as last year but didn't get a chance to try it with the slicks etc but should be able to get a little quicker. Will try this Sunday we have another import race. Got a 15.1 with the 35 shot in street trim it just lit up the tires.

Also got a .506 reaction time with the 12.6 which is my best as well.

Have a few more lightening things to do which should net another .1 or .2 and plan on trying a higher shot as well when I am sure everything is setup properly.

However it turns out I am a lousy racer, first round of eliminations and I red lighted, first race jitters I hope.

Ben, you are right the 95 is faster.

PS Don't worry Matt I am a long way from your doorstep yet.

Also thanks to my Son for taking the video and helping me remember what switches to turn on and off. My doors will probably feel him coming when he gets that Talon on the track next month. Tnx Jimmy

That run was a 1.88 but the 12.7 run was a 1.83 so I am hoping to possibly hit a high 1.7 but they don't come easy.

man this makes me want an NX kit... I have the exact same slicks as you already. Now wondering what I would run with your setup

If you only knew how close I came to buying a 2k2 after seeing you run those times with yours. I could just smell the speed. However I am holding off for another year.

PS My slicks are now 4 years old and my Son gave them to me after 2 years on his VR6.

Not a whole lot of mods they amount to less than $1500 so far and I paid $4k for the car a couple of months ago.

Exhaust, intake, UDP, slicks, NX, Drop resistor mod, trans cooler, S-AFC II.

BTW The video now works but pay no attention to the commentator he got a little excited because his Dad is faster than him.

Now I just gotta get my Dad to help me with my car and lay off his own so I have a chance to keep up...

Relay mod is good for 20hp to the wheels! =) But really. You car sounds MEAN! Which intake/exhaust combo is that? You car sounds higher pitched than most VQs I hear.

You must be digging out hard in the first 1/8th. Nice times man. BTW I pulled 1.8s on 4 of 5 runs the other day at the track. 1.87 was my best of the day.

That is a great time can you post the full timeslip? A 12.6 @ 106 means your running hard down the 1st 1/8 of the track. What size slicks are you running are they the MT 22x8x15?

Timeslip is there just click on it to view. Yes to the slick size.

Also went to dyno a week ago and it pulled 268 HP with the 100 HP shot. Difficult to dyno because its auto, can't nail it until over 4500 or it will downshift and mess up the dyno and at that time I still had the limiter connected and it hit 115 mph at around 5800 so not much of a graph.

I also had to hit the nitrous at part throttle on the dyno (can't do that with a WOT switch) to keep it from downshifting to even get it to 4500. The A/F was hooked up so I watched it VERY close. Auto's are not very compatible with dynos they just like the track.

Zumble, the intake is somewhat of a homegrown Bomz and the exhaust is Budget all the way with a Vibrant muffler which I just put on at the track. Its straight through and too noisy for highway driving.
