Can I remove factory dash trim?

Is it possible to remove a factory dash trim, such as wood grain? I know I can put a dash kit over the existing, but can I somehow remove what's there without replacing the actual dash piece?

th wood grain is part of the dash mold so I doubt it. I have a I30 wood dash so if the maxima is the same way then no.

I didn't know you could remove the wood grain.. I just went ahead and bought some stock panels that didn't have wood and overlayed my dash kit on top of it. Then I just sold the wood ones. If I only knew before

I guess the I30 and the maxima kits are different then. my shifter trim is all molded one piece not a stick on kit. also different color

Heated the area up and pulled like crazy. There will be glue left which is PITA to remove.

actually... just use a hair dryer... dry part by part the piece you wanna pull off... pry at it with your nails or something that doesn't scratch...

if you see the sticky stuff sticking to the car, use your nails again to try and pry it off too... when all is removed. Grab a white pencil eraser.

Start erasing the sticky part that's left over. It'll take a little while, but it'll come off

Sonic - is that glue on there or just scrape marks? hehe

MAXINS rolls an SE, which should have the taped-on-top kit and not the GLE kit. So I'd think you'd just be able to remove the top layer of wood grain, though the kit the dealership originally put on my SE gets a lot of compliments (even from anti-wood grain ppl )
