my 99 auto has 48k on it, 12k per year is too much, The guy who owned the car before me treated it like a Queen, So do I.

Mileage shouldn't really matter. As long as the car checks out ok (have a mechanic look it over) and has descent compression, it will treat you well.

Hmmm.. On my 2K1 I have over 55K but it's mostly highway miles.. So I guess on a 99 you can expect like around that much milaege.. As long as the previous owner didn't beat on it. Try to look for a car that was owned by an old couple

Basically, the mileage on that car won't matter much, just as long as it was taken care of.. since a 99 is relativly new, if it has high miles, most likely they were highway.

I just got a 99 back in December and it had 29,700 then. Im up to 37k now and am taking a 2k mile trek to Cali and back this weekend. So Ill be at 40k soon but that really isnt too bad at all on a 99.

I bought mine with 69K miles. Im up to 82K miles now Most reputable dealers around here offer 5Yr/100K mile warranties covering major engine and tranny parts. That put me to ease a bit...Im warrantied till 169K miles..

I have over 130k on a 97, no problems

word of advice,
don't look at the milage alone. Look for a good condition. These cars will last forever if you treat them right. Look for something that may have been owned by 1 person, has maintenance receipts, accident free, etc.. never mind the milage.

I bought my 99SE in July and it had 38000 on the clock, now Im at 58000, everything is still good. How many miles are bad is up to you, are you driving a ton of miles a day? Then youll want to find the lowest milage car you can, If you have a 5 mile commute or something, 60 or 70 K will be ok.

I bought my 99 with 32k miles which at the time was pretty high. Now almost three years later its up to 62k miles. Not too bad.

Got my 99SE 5spd with 43k and now I have 73k a year and 4 months later. The only thing thats gone wrong is a bad coil pack and right now the knock sensor is a little flakey, but fortunately nothing major. It's been an excellent car.

Bought my 98 GXE W/14k back in Fall 98. I've got almost 149k from my sometimes ~200 mile daily commute (IT Sales/Consulting). I constantly get 28+ mpg with a sometimes heavy foot. Only problem has been faulty oxygen sensor and my climate control lights that went out when I installed an aftermarket stereo, but they started working again on my way back from Atlanta last weekend
