Foglight Protection

Now that I have to replace my broken 2002 foglight, how can I protect them?

I've been searching for something acryllic that will snap on (like a shell) to the foglight, but am having little success. That leaves the 3M and Stongard tape folks...but I feel like the tape will hold the light together but repeated stone hits will shatter the light. In the end, I think I will be left with a shattered light that is holding together by tape.

Can anyone add a testimonial about protection for the 2002 - 2003 foglights (since previous years are plastic)? I'd like to hear what is the best product to go with and if there are any acryllic solutions. Thanks!

Don't feel bad. My fourth gen driversside foglight is cracked. I would also like to find a good protection solution...

I'm considering going out and getting some product with plexiglass from Wal-Mart (like a cook book holder for the kitchen), tracing my foglight, then cutting out the plexiglass and afixing it to my foglight. I just have to devise a way to adhere it to the glass without gluing.

use the same stuff they use on the headlights not the thin stuff on the paint.

repeated hits will not shatter the light...of course if u hit it w/ a huge rock or something big it's done.

for looks i would use this over any plexi since plexi scratch easily and it's going to look like poo once you get scratches.

Try this: http://www.xpel.com/products/bulk.asp

Someone had a write up on how they took the bulk material and stuck it to the lens and then used a utility knife and trimed off the excess. Would be a quick and easy fix.
