to all the naysayers out there

I passed my emissions test today. Without a cat. No additives or anything. Just wanted to say, it can be done.

Dont they check for cats with a mirror, or did you just gut out your cat and leave the shell

What'd you do? Tip the guy some $ and had him stick the emmissions pipe in another car and then just pass you?

In your mods it lists a y-pipe and high flow cat. Unless you got a test pipe and didn't update.

I don't see how this is possible, most people barely squeeze by with a y-pipe and stock cat.

The real question is:WHERE?

In the NYC area, they put your car on a dyno and test it's emission through all rpm ranges, every gear. Other parts of NY state don't quite go that far.

Who in AZ hasn't passed emissions with just a Ypipe? It's not like you lose any O2 sensors or anything, the same pollutants come through the pipe no matter what, just might be better flow. Just curious, with new cars here I don't have to do emissions for the first 5 or 6 years. Sweetness

heres the results

well, its not like i passed with no worries. On the Nox section, i believe the limit is 848, i passed with 844. But there was no cat involved. There was a 15mph and a 25 mph test and around 2500 rpm. So, hell, its worth a shot, all i had at the time was teh stock Y-pipe on. Yah, by high flow, i meant gutted.
