Souldn't the oil drain line be going down? Isn't the drain line on turbo's gravity based?

Is this the second custommaxima kit that we've now seen with an "uphill" return line? http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...180_6_full.jpg

Yea that Oil drainback is going to be a problem. Also people are being told that the crankcase breather is a "Vacuum" so it will suck the oil from the drainback. I dont think that statement is true. I wouldnt risk blowing a new turbo in 3months because of that.

I mean look at me, I had my oil drainback line wrapped around a friggen motor mount and it ended up backing up and leaked out the turbo one night until i opened it and had to clear the sludge out of it.

agreed...I think that breather/vaccum idea is a big misconception...since many cars today have those "baffles"(sorta like a one way flap/valve) built into the valve cover right under the outlet hole to prevent any sort of vaccum to begin with. I know the 3rd gen VCs have a baffle so I'm assuming the 4th gens do as well

You're correct. The valve cover breather is not a vacuum. It simply vents to a splash guard on the top of the inside of the valve cover. I think oil may puddle in it though if it's going in through there.

Here is a new pic. I was told because of the amount of boost, i should not have to worry, but they are now changing the this spot and will be tapping my oil pan.

This car is sponsored by custommaxima and this is the new turbo from custommaxima.

He did say that they are changing the oil return to the oil pan...

Maybe since he's running high boost he won't need to change out his muffler bearings...
