Maxima sufferes battle damage
I went to downtown baltimore on sunday night to celebrate the victory of the Ravens with the tens of thousands of other fans. Needless to say, it was definately an endurance run on the car. I had my 3 amp stereo going full blast for about 2 hours straight. I have 1000 watts going to 2 15" woofers, about 150x2 to the front speakers and 80x2 to the rear speakers. Keep in mind this was at crawling idle speed. We went maybe 5 blocks in an hour. The headlights and fogs were also on, the airhorns were being layed on continuosly, I had a 800,000 candle power spot light going, and I also had a megaphone that's wired to the car's power going. I had ALOT of fun and so did my passengers just to act like butt-plugs and the cops did nothing about it. I had people dancing in the street to my music. I almost got run over by a bus and my car was repeatedly sprayed with beer and almost got nailed with flying beer bottles.
The battle damage that came out was that some idiot jumped on the roof of my car and left a rather large dent. It is not creased but if you look at it, it is noticeable. I guess time for paintless dent repair.
In addition, my airhorns do not work anymore. I might have damaged the diaphragm on the airhorn by laying on it for 2 hours straight. Third, I might have blown a tweeter in my deck. It doesnt play anymore, but I have yet to check for loose connections.
I am however, very impressed with the performance and endurance of the electrical system, tolerating such a load from my stereo. When I used to be in Miami, I joined the cuban protests for Elian (even though I was pro american) in my old Camry. And even with my Optima deep cycler, after 45 minutes or so, the stereo started cutting out.

OK, well turns out I've got 2 of 3 problems taken care of. The airhorns are blown, but my friend is going to give me his set. As for the tweeter, it was never blown, just that I never mounted the tweeter on the rear deck and after a while, it decided to dislodge itself seperating the wire. So now, I have to solder the tweeter back in place and secure it down... Grrr, what a pain in the *** to take that rear deck out...
