Ripped CV (?) Axle Problems...
To my suprise there were a few drips of grease on my wheel this afternoon. I noticed my wheelwell was spotted with it too; I cleaned the wheel off and it came back after my drive home. There was no unusual noise and the car drove normally. This is a thick black liquid so I'm betting it's grease from my CV. Is my assumption correct from what you're heard? Also should I get the Merchant's Tire & Auto axle for $190 installed or is it worth forking out the extra money for a Raxles axle + labor?
Thanks,

Yes, it sounds like you have a ripped/torn CV axle boot.
I personally just get my remanufactured CV axles from PepBoys and Advanced Auto. The total cost is like $70.00 after you get the core charge back.
And, I think that you can personally take on this job yourself, granted that you have basic knowledge of your car. The only special tools you will need is a large 36mm socket, which is like $4.00 from your local auto store or hardware store.
