Max is gone... :(

Well guys, I no longer have the Maxima. I had to get rid of it so I could afford school. I was at a point in my life where I had to choose which is more important. The car will only be there for a while, but my education will last forever. I couldn't afford it and going to school, so it is gone. My payments where high, ins. was high, and I was putting alot of milage on it.

I will still be hanging out on the org. It has been a thrill hanging with you guys, as I will continue to do so.

I am kinda open to what I am looking at now. My parents are going to help me get one so the intrest and payments are lower. Intrest rates are prime now (and they have good credit and I will pay them for the car).

Thanks again for all of the help you have given me and the friendships that I have gained. But alas, all good things must come to an end.

sorry you had to get rid of it. just make sure you dont mess around in school! When you are done and making good $$$, you can own any car you want, as long as its a max!

Don't worry, when school's over and done with, you'll look at your new 350 Z or G35 in your driveway and say "damn, I made a good choice!"

Get a 4th gen Jarred. They are cheap now, especially used 95/96s....

IF possible, get a 97 instead of 95-96...Nissan upgraded the structure for 97 which REALLY improved the crash safety and durability.

the problem is, i need something that will get me through the next 7 years of school. I was looking and Hondas (the dark side) are about 4-5 grand cheaper than Nissans are.

Still not sure what I want.

It really is.

Get a VE 5 speed. Very cheap to buy, insurance is cheap, and they are tons of fun. A car this old just shouldn't be this fast, it's great!

You'll get it figured out Jared.

Find you a good 95 SE or GLE and you will be ok and it will last you for a while yet and it will still have the VQ, and save the extra mony required fpr school! I had an 89 Maxima that got me through High school and College and guess what my niece still rolls it today with 200k on it!

JB, VG's are even good.

the car will depreciate no matter what, so buy one that doesnt have much more to go.

Hey Jared I don't know if it makes even the slightest difference to you, but I think you did the right thing. If I was in your place I would do it also - I know it's easier said than done, but in the end it's just a car. An education is what will get you more of them.

Thanks for all the support guys. I was looking at another Max, but right now, I am thinking something smaller (4 cylinder due to milage that I drive) and convertible. S2000's are out, 350Z's are for sure out. Z3's have been thought about, but when it boils down to it, I found out that I can probably get a 99 or so Miata for about 150 a month plus insurance which puts my car and my insurance lower than just the payment on the max.

I will let you guys know what happens when all is said and done. The insurance company was cool. They said right now b/c of the age of the policy (23 years) and the ammount insured on it (4 cars, mine will make 5, 2 trailers, a boat, a camper, 2 life insurance policies, and the house insurance) that I have great rates and that if I cancel my insurance, I will loose those benifits. So they allowed me to put a hold on the account and I don't have to make a payment till I get a new car and I have 2 months to find one. That was nice to know after giving my baby up.

Woah, excellent on the insurance. I know you've already read my post on Max-World.

I'll tell you what jared, you buy another maxima, and I'll make it a convertiable for you, for free (minus cost of cloth, some metal tubing, and a motor).
