Sorry for the delay but finally I got some pics of installed cf hoods on 4th gen 5th gen for yall. Thanks to Agyei and Joe for making the trip out in this crappy weather to have the install done. Thanks to Initial D for offering the great prices on hood install.
Results:
Fitment is excellent! Clear coat finish and the carbonfiber lining on the hoods are A+. No blemishes or uneven sections (unlike the FI hoods). Structurally these hoods are solid. Best of all, the edges of the cf hood line up perfectly along stock fenders and the grille (on both 4th and 5th gen). Considering that they are the first batch shipped to me, I can't ask for anything better.
Brightness of the pics aren't the greatest since we had over 29426568 inches of rainfall today.. I'll take better pics and post them up on a later date (when it's sunny).
*shameless plug* Can't beat $380 *shameless plug* -AnGe

What ply CF is it, 2 ply or 1 ply ? Is there any kind of way to see if they are strong and durable ...eg: Can you do the tests that FiberImages does with their hood, you know where they drop a rim and tire on it and drive over the hood at like 30 ?
380 is a great price but unfortunetly if it was higher the amount B!tching and BS'n would be too great for anyone to handle.

have you ever actually looked at those videos, they are all staged and cut up. nothing is dropped, no one jumps on it and the car sure as hell doesnt even move it's wheels when it "drives" over it.Originally posted by Stillnmax

it's all fake.. my CF hood from FI flipped up and snapped in half, it's not strong.

my friend owns his own hood/bodykit place out here (bodykits NW) and he was showing me how durable his hoods are...smashing them as hard as he can with hands, feet, ect...

Those hoods are durable, but on some of them, the fit and finish is bad. I got one for a friend's Integra about a year ago, and the thing was 1/2" to 3/4" off in some places. The gap was huge, and plus the edges were really bad. They were white. Andy was a nice guy about it though, and took care of things. I have heard that his new hoods are better.

Thebigsadler, when I saw your post, I remember watching the hood jump video a long time ago. I went to the FiberImages website this morning and took a closer look at all three videos again. I see what you are saying about the rims looking like they are not moving. After watching the rim being dropped on the hood, I can imagine how that could be staged.Originally posted by thebigsadler

I also looked closely at the hood jump video and watched the shadow cast by the guy jumping on it. Looks legit to me. However, I would like to know what makes you think this particular video is staged or cut up?
Also, how fast were you going when your hood poped up? I've always kept a close eye on my stock hood at speeds above 120, I see it rattling up and down slightly. Makes me think the stock latch isn't the safest thing to rely on at speeds upwards of 120. The last thing I want is my girlfriend to experience the hood poping up if she decides to take the car up to that kind speed. Maybe its time to add something extra to it just to be on the safe side?

No problem man. Just helping you out. And to stay on topic, definitely install hood pins on c/f hoods Originally posted by 1eyedcalibandit

So THAT's why none of the FI hoods fit properly. Originally posted by Stillnmax

Not to be too critical but I noticed from the 4th gen pictures it looks as though the gap on the passenger side is kinda big. It could be just the picture though. I dunno. The 5th gen fitment looks perfect though IMO.

The 5th gen one looks flawless, but when you look at the 4th gen one, i agree, there appears to be a slight gap difference... Look at the real closeup pic of the one on the maroon Max above, nearing the headlight, the gap seems slightly larger than as you move along the hoodline up to the windshield... Other than that, thumbs up, this is the best looking CF hood i've seen for the Max yet, you 5th genners should jump on this quick... I might jump on this eventually once i have more stuff paid off because my stock hood is chop full o paint chips
